the first morning, we got up just as the sun was starting to peek over the horizon and i snapped away at God’s ever-changing painting. that evening, we went down to the cherry grove pier where i successfully hunted shark’s teeth, which is my favorite way to pass time at the beach. even found a piece of a great white’s tooth. i always get excited by their teeth, because i don’t often find them. {that’s probably a good sign.} when it got too dark to find teeth, us girls headed back onto the pier where we got the chance to see a thresher shark propelling itself out of the water. they have the neatest tails! while the boys fished, i tried to read, but instead, fell asleep with my arms inside my dress. it was so chilly that night and the cardigan i’d considered bringing was wadded up on my duffel bag back at the house.
