i made these pillows by using my highly rudimentary sewing skills to stitch together napkins i’d purchased years ago at an april cornell outlet. the red ones were used for my parents’ 40th anniversary party while the white were used at a baby shower thrown for my sister-in-law, jennifer. i like that they have some history (while somehow remaining stain-free). i embroidered craspedia (billy buttons) and her name on a couple of the napkins just because i’d always wanted to try my hand at it. it was time-consuming and left my fingers sore, but the result was well worth it.
